What Media SL is
- Media SL is a Second Life community platform for residents, creators, bloggers, stores, photographers, event organizers, and clubs.
- The site includes a social feed, profiles, Pro visibility, Events, Weekend Selection, contests, boosts, banners, albums, rewards, Ambassador referrals, and in-world terminal tools.
- Public content remains in English. Support may answer in the visitor language when possible.
Account basics
- Media SL accounts are connected to a Second Life resident identity.
- Residents log in with a code requested through a Media SL Second Life terminal.
- Public profiles can be discovered by visitors. Members-only profiles are visible only to signed-in residents.
- Profile tabs show Albums in second position after Posts, so album content is easier to find.
- Profile completion can unlock rewards and may be required for selected features, including contest participation.

Using Media SL
Eligibility and accounts
- Media SL is built for Second Life residents and community activity.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish on your profile, posts, events, and promotional submissions.
- You must not impersonate another resident, creator, brand, store, group, club, or Media SL team member.
- Media SL may restrict, hide, moderate, or remove accounts and content when needed to protect the platform and community.
User content
- You keep responsibility for the posts, images, links, comments, events, and profile information you publish.
- You must only upload or share content you have the right to use.
- Do not share stolen content, copybot material, leaked/private assets, malicious files, phishing links, or scam content.
- By publishing content on Media SL, you allow Media SL to display it on the site, social feed, contest pages, sidebars, Discord notifications, and promotional placements connected to the platform.
Pro, boosts, and promotions
- Pro, boosts, banners, Weekend Selection, featured posts, and event visibility are promotional tools controlled by Media SL rules and availability.
- Paid or promotional visibility does not guarantee sales, traffic, likes, comments, followers, or prize selection.
- Media SL can refuse or remove promotional content that is misleading, unsafe, unrelated to Second Life, or against platform rules.
Limitations
- Media SL is provided as a community platform and may change, pause, or remove features when maintenance, moderation, security, or technical needs require it.
- External services such as Discord, Flickr, X, Second Life, Marketplace, Cloudflare, and hosting providers may affect previews, links, access, delivery, or performance outside Media SL control.
- Support information is guidance only and does not replace direct admin review for payments, sanctions, privacy, legal, or account-sensitive requests.
Privacy Policy
Data and privacy
Information Media SL may use
- Media SL may store account details needed for login, Second Life identity, profile display, posting, follows, likes, comments, bookmarks, reports, XP, levels, referrals, Pro status, events, boosts, contest entries, and support.
- Public profile information, public posts, events, contest entries, marketplace links, teleport links, and social actions may be visible to other visitors or residents depending on the feature and profile visibility settings.
- Private admin notifications may include operational details such as new account creation, referrer information, profile links, and moderation or reward status.
Cookies, sessions, and security
- Media SL may use WordPress cookies, login sessions, security checks, cache systems, and analytics tools to keep the site working and protected.
- Cloudflare, hosting tools, anti-spam systems, and security logs may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timing information.
- Do not share passwords, login codes, payment information, private tokens, webhook URLs, or API keys in posts, comments, support requests, or Discord channels.
Discord and external services
- Media SL may send public post, event, contest, featured, announcement, and status notifications to Discord channels through webhooks.
- Some external links may be previewed through metadata from services such as Flickr, X, Discord, Second Life, Marketplace, and other public websites when available.
- External services have their own policies, privacy rules, caching, moderation, previews, and availability. Media SL cannot guarantee how they display or process links.
Access and correction
- Residents can edit many public profile details from their account page.
- For sensitive account, privacy, payment, or deletion requests, contact Media SL support so an admin can review the case.
- Support may ask for enough information to identify the account and understand the request, but will never ask for your password.

Rules and policies
Community Rules
- Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, threats, discrimination, bullying, spam, scams, malware, phishing, copied content, leaked private assets, and abuse are not allowed.
- Promotion is allowed only in the proper Media SL areas and must stay related to Second Life, stores, events, releases, photography, blogs, or community updates.
- Adult content must follow the site rules, Discord rules, and platform Terms of Service. Adult content visibility may require sign in.
Social Feed Policy
- Residents can publish posts, images, links, Second Life teleport links, Marketplace links, comments, likes, bookmarks, follows, reposts, and reports.
- Standard accounts can edit their own posts for 2 hours after publishing. Pro accounts can edit their own posts for 24 hours.
- Authors can delete their own posts after the edit window. Media SL moderators and admins may edit or remove content when needed for moderation.
- Edited posts may display an Edited label.
Albums Policy
- Standard accounts can create up to 5 albums. Pro accounts can create up to 50 albums.
- Each album can include up to 100 photos.
- Album thumbnails, profile previews, and feed previews use the selected cover photo first when one is available.
- The album cover can be selected during creation and changed later during the allowed edit window.
- Standard accounts can edit albums for 2 hours after creation. Pro accounts can edit albums for 24 hours after creation.
- During the edit window, the owner can update the description, change the cover, add photos, remove photos, and add optional Teleport or Marketplace links for photos.
- Opening an album thumbnail shows the normal album view. Edit mode opens only from the Edit album button.
- Deleting an album requires confirmation.
Contest Policy
- Media SL photo contests are monthly and may display the current theme, previous winners, and previous contest archive information.
- Contest participation requires a Media SL profile completion of at least 50%.
- Entries must follow the official hashtag and the rules shown on the Contest page.
- Photo entries must be General or Moderate only unless a future contest explicitly says otherwise.
- One creator can win once per monthly contest. Media SL admin makes the final winner decision.
- Likes and comments may count as community engagement bonus, but they do not automatically decide winners.
Promotion Policy
- Weekend Selection, boosts, banners, and featured placements are promotional tools managed by Media SL rules and availability.
- Weekend Selection submissions can include 2 to 6 items depending on the current form rules.
- Marketplace links and Second Life teleport links may be detected automatically and shown with the proper button.
- Promotional visibility is not a guarantee of sales, traffic, or engagement.

Frequently asked questions
Who can post on Media SL?
Registered residents can publish social feed posts. Some features, such as Events, are reserved for Pro members.
Who can create events?
Only Pro members can create Media SL Events. Event durations can run up to 48 hours.
How do I join a contest?
Complete at least 50% of your profile, publish a valid General or Moderate photo post, and include the official contest hashtag shown on the Contest page.
Can the same creator win several prizes?
No. One creator can win once per monthly contest.
How long can I edit my post?
Standard accounts can edit posts for 2 hours. Pro accounts can edit posts for 24 hours.
How many albums can I create?
Standard accounts can create up to 5 albums. Pro accounts can create up to 50 albums. Each album can include up to 100 photos.

Can I choose an album cover?
Yes. The creator can choose a cover photo during album creation and can change it during the allowed edit window. The cover appears first in album previews.
Can I add links to album photos?
Yes. During the album edit window, the owner can add optional Teleport or Marketplace links to individual photos.
Can support add XP, validate referrals, or grant Pro manually?
No. Rewards, Ambassador XP, badges, and Pro referral rewards are automatic when eligibility conditions are met.
Can I post only a Flickr link?
Yes. When the public link can be previewed, Media SL may show a link card. If the external account or post is restricted, moderated, blocked, private, or unavailable, the preview may be limited.
Can I use Discord or X links?
Yes, but some services restrict image previews. Media SL may show a clean link card when an image cannot be safely retrieved.

Events
- Only Pro members can create Media SL Events.
- Events must include accurate event information, maturity rating, timing, location or website details, and a valid poster when required.
- Event durations can run up to 48 hours.
- Finished events may disappear from public listings automatically.
Albums
- Albums are displayed in second position on profile tabs, directly after Posts.
- Album cards use the selected cover photo first and can show a compact preview of the album photos.
- Album summaries use compact text, clickable valid URLs, and the first 3 hashtags with a remaining count when more hashtags exist.
- Clicking an album opens the normal album view. The Edit album button opens the owner edit view.
- Photo viewers should use the album title where possible and allow navigation through the album photos.
- Owners can manage album photos, descriptions, cover photos, and optional Teleport or Marketplace links during the allowed edit window.
Rewards and Ambassador Program
- Media SL Rewards is the XP and level system for residents.
- Ambassador referrals are free for every registered member and are not limited to Pro members.
- Referral XP, badges, and Pro rewards are automatic only when eligibility conditions are met.
- At 10 active referrals, a member can unlock 1 free month of Media SL Pro once per account.
- Support cannot manually validate referrals, add XP, or grant Pro rewards.
Support Boundaries
- Media SL Support can explain how the site works, but cannot change private account data, payments, Pro status, moderation decisions, contest winners, or prize payments automatically.
- For payment, suspension, refund, Pro activation, private account, or moderation issues, Media SL admin must review the case.
- Never share passwords, payment details, private tokens, or API keys with support.
Updates
Recent platform updates
Albums now include profile tab placement after Posts, cover photo handling, compact summaries, owner edit rules, per-photo Teleport or Marketplace links, and delete confirmation.
Album limits are 5 albums for standard accounts and 50 albums for Pro accounts, with up to 100 photos per album. Album edit windows are 2 hours for standard accounts and 24 hours for Pro accounts.
Contest entries now require 50% profile completion. Monthly contests can show current theme, previous winners, and archive information.
Post editing windows are 2 hours for standard accounts and 24 hours for Pro accounts.
Events can run up to 48 hours. Links in profiles and event descriptions may be clickable when formatted as valid URLs.
